If you are reading this post than it means that you got stuck while setting up Feedburner Feed for your blog and got an error which said “Your feed filesize is larger than 576K…….”
In today’s post I will show you how you can troubleshoot this error and solve it, so that you can continue with you main work of stetting up Feedburner Feed. This post is a part of my previous post on How to setup Feedburner Feed for your WordPress blog.
Here is what you should do if you get this error.
Login to your WordPress account.
On the Dashboard Menu go to Settings → Reading sub-menu.
Here on this page you can limit the number of recent posts you want to show in your Feed. The name of this setting is “Syndication feeds show the most recent” By default this setting have 10 value. Change it with 5 to show only 5 latest post on Feed. This will decrease your Feed filesize.
Now go back to your Feedburner error Page and re-burn your Feed again. If decreased filesize of Feed is now under 576K then no error will occur and you will be redirected to the next page of the setup. If you still gets same error then you again need to go to Settings → Reading sub-menu and set “Syndication feed Show the most recent” setting with less then 5 value.
You can also control whether you want to Show full content of each post or only summery detail of each post in Feed. You can find this setting by going to Settings → Reading Dashboard menu having name as “For each article in a feed, show”.
Things to be Noted :
It might be possible that after changing Feed settings on Settings → Reading you still don’t see that change reflected in your blog Feed. The reason of this can be the cached version of your old Feed. So, To see the change in RSS Feed, you need to empty browser cache and cookies from your browser.
If you have installed any blog caching plugin on your WordPress blog like W3 Total Cache or W3 Super Cache and you don’t see the Change in your Feed that you have done in Feed Setting of WordPress, then I suggest you to empty all Cache of Caching plugin, to see the new change in Feed.
I hope this post will be able to solve this error for you. If you still getting the same problem or any other problem while setting up Feedburner Feed, ask here. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks and Happy Blogging
